Despite Arizona’s Ethnic Studies Ban, Students Can Still Enroll in Native Programs

Parents are concerned about their children taking classes that relate to who they are as a person.
Although Ethnic Studies has been banned, students can still take other classes, like a class about Native American Studies.

Why do you think the government is only banning that one class and not other classes that are bases on "other" races ?

  1. The irony of it all!! Aren't "Mexican-Americans" the same as "Native-Americans", because they were there first as well. Remember in Precious Knowledge, Mr. Acosta said Mexicans had been in American territory for thousands of years?! Here people in Arizona are trying not to group a race together, but they just can't accept the American Race as a whole! :O Now Native Americans can take Native American classes, but Mexicans can't?

Why do people try to separate the American identity into Native-American, Mexican-American, African-American?? I thought we were all just Americans...
